Grandma and the Great Gourd

Grandma is an old woman.

Her home is a small hut near a dark jungle.
She has two dogs. Their names are Kalu and Bhulu.
They protect her and help in the garden.

One day, Grandma gets a letter.
Her daughter lives on the other side of the jungle.
The letter says, "Please come and visit me."
Grandma wants to go.

She walks into the jungle.
She meets a fox, a bear, and a tiger.
All of them are hungry.
They want to eat Grandma.
Grandma says, "I am too thin now.
Wait for me. I will be fat after I visit my daughter."
The animals wait.

Grandma stays with her daughter for many days.
She eats good food. She works in the garden.
Grandma becomes fat.

Now Grandma must go home.
But the animals are waiting to eat her!
Her daughter has a clever plan.
They take a big gourd.
They cut it open and take out the seeds.
Grandma climbs inside.
Her daughter closes the gourd.
The gourd rolls into the jungle.

The tiger sees the gourd. He pushes it.
The bear sees the gourd. He pushes it.
The fox sees the gourd. He is clever.

Grandma says, "Please let me sing one last song."
The fox says yes.
Grandma sings loudly.

Kalu and Bhulu hear her song.
They run fast into the jungle.
